13″ x 7″One of a kind handmade original fantasy art wood burning of a rising phoenix. Pyrography on a rectangle pine board with a round edge. Sprayed with a glossy UV protective spray. This piece took approximately 20 hours to create.
How appropriate the rebirth of the phoenix from fire and ash to represent the monumental shift of energy and direction in my own life. A fire has been stoked in my heart, a passion so strong which has pushed me to abruptly changed my way of living. Every untold emotion has gone into this creation. There is no irony in the image and the fact that it was made by burning. The fire I feel in my heart and soul has extinguished the fear of change. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I do and that it serves as a reminder to be strong and follow your heart.

A multidisciplinary commission artist originally from Pennsylvania who now resides in Haverhill MA. Rachel Johnson’s primary mediums are pyrography and painting as well as photography. Johnson’s portfolio showcases fine art pyrography, event prop design, carving, photography and more. An illustrator at heart; she is strongly influenced by nature but is not bound by it. She has worked for years in special event production and has had art on display in diverse arenas throughout New England.
