I grow many varieties of specialty cut flowers at my small urban farm. My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Entomology from the University of Maryland and I am a certified arborist. My farming practices promote insect pollinators. Even my neighbors notice this. I use only organic methods to grow my flowers. The soil amendments I use such as compost and brush chips, come from very local sources. I minimize my use of plastics by direct seeding my flowers or growing them using a method called soil blocking which totally eliminates the use of plastic cell trays. The media I use is based on renewable coco coir and earthworm castings not peat moss. I do not use plastic weed barriers but rely on a thick covering of brush chips to keep in moisture and promote healthy soil. This allows for the interaction of air, precipitation, soil microbes, and animals such as birds and insects with the soil. I grew many flowers for designers that had planned for spring weddings which are all canceled now so I need new customers. I will have a minimum charge of $30 for an order, not including delivery charge, and a charge for delivery outside of a 2 mile radius of Riverdale Park. I sell by the stem by providing a shared Google Sheet stating my flower availability and images of the flowers. I will update this list twice a week.

COVID-19 Notes: My flowers are growing outside in the fresh air. I am the only one handling my flowers. My family and I are all healthy at this point. I harvest with gloves on and my buckets are washed frequently with a bleach solution. I hold some of my flowers in a cooler which has been sterilized.
